Railings and platforms are safety components first and metalwork second. A handrail that flexes when someone grabs it during a fall has failed at its only job, and a platform that is not properly braced becomes a hazard the moment it is loaded.
Every railing and platform here is designed with the load in mind, welded at the connections that carry it, and anchored into structure rather than into whatever happened to be nearby.
Anchoring and load transfer
A railing is only as strong as its base connection. Post baseplates are sized and fixed into sound concrete or welded to structural steel, and the load path from the top rail down through the posts into the structure is deliberate rather than incidental.
On older concrete, the substrate is checked before anchor selection — expanding anchors in crumbling concrete give a rail that feels solid on install day and works loose within a year.
Fit to the real opening
Steps and openings are rarely square or evenly spaced, particularly in older Nebraska farmsteads and commercial buildings. Rails are measured in place and drawn to the actual rise, run and angle so the finished rail sits parallel to the stair rather than fighting it.
Infill style — vertical pickets, horizontal rails, mesh or plate — is chosen with you, with any child-safety or industrial spacing requirements built into the drawing.

On site versus shop work
Rails and platforms are measured on site, fabricated as sections, then brought out for fitting and final welding in place. Welding the last connections on site is what removes the accumulated tolerance problems that plague bolt-together railing kits.
The trade-off is finishing: field welds need touch-up on site rather than a full shop coating. Where appearance is critical, sections are finished in advance and joints are positioned so the field welds land in discreet locations.
